With computers in virtually every business and home, there is a great need for people who know the in's and out's of computer hardware. Knowing what's going wrong and how to fix it is a valued skill, and this program teaches students just that. PC Service & Support Students participating in this program will learn how to install and configure computer hardware, such as disks, memory, network adapters and other peripherals. They will also learn how to install operating systems such as Windows and DOS. This certification program also covers diagnosis and troubleshooting of typical problems associated with hardware and operating systems. Students will learn how to install Microsoft Office, set-up network printing and troubleshoot problems that are typical of Microsoft Office and e-mail. Other topics include computer networking (LANs and WANs), TCP/IP and fundamental network administration. Length of Program: 10 weeks in day program. 30 weeks part-time in evening program.
